New website launched to help promote Isle of Wight Music scene!

We love to see new websites that support local music talent, this directory site is dedicated to listing bands so you have a resource for looking to hire them for a venue, Instead of going through the phone book or going to sites where you can spend hours going through, now its all in one place!

About Isle of Wight Bands

Sophie Neary, an award winning internet entrepreneur and Cowes resident has set up the free website www.IsleOfWightBands.com after struggling to find contact details for many of the bands she’d seen in her local Cowes pubs who she wanted to play at a party.

After a fairly labour intensive search, including calling lots of different pubs and soliciting help on local websites, she decided that it might be helpful to others in the same boat to share the information gathered.  And so the website was born!

Sophie built the site in a few hours last Friday morning and in the five days since launch it’s already received over 1,000 visitors.  New bands have already been added and the list is growing daily.

Says Sophie, “The Isle is renowned for great live music, it seemed a shame that it was so hard to get in touch with some of the bands.  I hope this site is helpful both for the public and for bands and entertainers too”.

So, if you’re a band, DJ or venue for hire on the Isle then contact Sophie via the site to be listed for free.

Sophie Neary is a serial entrepreneur who most recently was a founding director of the multi award winning BeatThatQuote.com which beat Facebook to be the fastest growing UK website in 2007 and was sold to Google in March 2011.  Sophie has been a Cowes resident since 2007.
