Digital Dreams Media and Studios is based on the Isle of Wight in the UK and is a website designed to showcase creativity from all different kinds of Art, Music, Film, Photography, Game Creations and so on. There are thousands of websites that only showcase one kind of media, So we thought we would try and be a bit different. The old site just showcased our artists and producers but now you can sign up and get involved !. Below is a brief  history of Digital Dreams Media and where it originally came from it dates way back to 1993.

Digital Dreams History:

Digital Dreams Media is a state of the art recording studio, we have 2 Studios. The Studios were designed by Producer Stuart Wakeman and due to his Illness was sold off in 2001 to Luke Patterson, but remain on the Island in the outskirts of Rookley, Stuart is one of our producers and we house 10 producers and engineers in all which are from different parts of the UK. So below is the history on how we became one of the biggest and best studios on the south coast of England.

The Stu Wakeman Studio

This studio was designed mainly for creating producing midi files and recording our duo the Generation Gap tapes to sell at gigs. This Studio only featured 128tracks and 16track midi under Windows 95 and Cakewalk pro audio 8. I also produced backing tracks for other artists at the time.

Here are a couple of backing tracks I produced back in the days just before General Midi was invented and you played everything to a click track.

Reelsounds Studio

This was Reelsounds Studio, the studio was designed by Dave Wright and Stuart Wakeman. It featured 7.1 surround sound which was one of the first studios to feature digital surround sound. It was powered by a Soundcraft desk with Windows XP music station setup with Cakewalk pro audio 9, Wavelab 3.1 with Waves plugins and Magix Samplitude® first version to feature surround sound mixing.

This Studio was used to produced the Wonderful Jazz Album “Let it flow” by Makuini, Produced by Stuart Wakeman and Dave Wright. Even today the album is well known for the unique piano spread that we created and paved a way forward in Jazz Music Production. With the superb voice of Makuini and Musicians from New York USA, made this track one of our favourites from the album. From Positive reviews from BBC Radio 2 and Jazz Magazines, the Artist is now touring the world.

Studio 1 Control Room

Digital Dreams Studio 1 features:

Professionally installed Control room created by Stuart with automation cinema screen for score editing to film and now in 3D, which goes up when recording live to see into sound stage. Sound-stage with room for a  full orchestra and choirs. Studio 1 Console is Euphonix System 5 Dual operator console, ready to tackle any demanding recording session.

Here is a recording from Studio 1 featuring The Gwent Symphony Orchestra Recorded 2005. Mastered in Studio 2. Produced and Mastered by Stuart Wakeman and Robert Levy.

The Superman Theme was a charity recording, produced in Studio 1 @ Digital Dreams Studios by Stuart Wakeman and Paul Thompson 2005. Various Musicians local and a far made up the Symphony Orchestra needed to produce the track. Thanks to all the technical Staff and floor managers for their hard work at the time.

Professionally installed Control room aimed at mastering and electronic music, features Pro-tools 9 HD5 Console producing upto 7.1 DTS, Dolby Digital and THX Certified Hardware Processors, Plus all state of the art tools to create anything. Now features a 3D Cinema screen for editing sound to film.
